TekTone has recently received a few returned CEs for repair that had the field replaceable back-up batteries still inside.  These batteries provide system power during the facility’s switchover to emergency generator power.  Without removing the batteries before returning, the batteries rattle around the CE damaging internal components such as circuit boards, fans, DIP switches, etc., resulting in costly repair work.

All Gen 2 modules – NC120, NC160 & NC455CE plus the NC356CE Gen 3 should all have batteries removed prior to shipping.
